Problem

The Indian and global climate space is growing at a fast pace. More and more founders, students, investors and climate enthusiast are willing to join the movement. But is there a platform that helps them connect, share resouces, attend learning sessions and build with community's support? Enter SusMafia! The community had been struggling for a while to have a brand identity in place. WIth loads of stakeholders it was difficult for them and even as a designer to curate identity that is relevant to all stakeholders and is a reflection to the energy the community has.

Solution

We went with a fun and vibrant font and colour palatte to exhibit the community's youthfulness. The team was clear that even though they were very serious about the problems that they were solving for they never wanted to sound too intimadating that people don't even to set their foot into the climate tech space. Hence a minimal funkiness was added to the branding. The aspect of "community", "building" together" and "environment" are core to what SusMafia works for. These concepts are shown by handdrawn-like illustration in the design and in a lot of cases hands are the central element of the visual system.

It was important to understand that SusMafia cater to a larger scale of audience and the branding had to be in the direction where everyone feels connected to the overall goal. A central idea that has guided the team and me while the branding process was "The Sustainability Mafia is all about shaping a planet-friendly future and having a blast doing it."

The project consisted of rebranding the brand, designing the new website and developing the website.
